Bryan, I have dealt with both Bruce and an Atma-Sphere dealer. I told Bruce that I intended to audition both his amp and the Atma-Sphere amps. He encouraged me to do so. Did he think that his OTL was better than Atma-Sphere's? Yep. Did he trash the Atma-Sphere design? Nope. I spoke with the Atma-Sphere dealer. Did she think that Ralph's design was better? Yep. Did she trash the Transcendent design? Nope. So, my own personal experience doesn't suggest that either designer is trying to defame the other. And, I'm just kind of amazed that a single post regarding bass from the Atma-Sphere can raises all these claims of conspiracy and fraud. If Bruce was trying to set something up, don't you think he would have someone use a speaker other than Maggies to make this claim? As I said earlier, I just want people to talk about the merits of the equipment rather than the motives/ego/defensiveness of the designers. As to your last point, I think I can see the big picture. Since I don't know you, however, I'm not ready to make the judgment that you're paranoid.
Chris, it's not what he says to you or any customer in a private telephone conversation, it's his comportment on this forum (and his own)that has Bryan's (and my) knickers in a twist. While I can't prove Curtis Amplatz is a plant, it looks mighty suspicious. And I've accused Bruce of nothing that he didn't accuse me of first. The argument that "he paid for it so he can do what he wants" can only go so far. Sure, he can't post on his forum that his amps will let you hear the voice of God and delete all naysayers. But, as Bryan pointed out earlier, he couldn't handle a technical discussion on amp design and performance and had to delete that too because a techically competent poster had a different view. Was that a service to his readers and prospective customers?
Oh, as to the Maggies, they are very popular with quite a few on this forum and many owners or prospective owners have asked about Maggies and tube amps. So I think it's the perfect choice to turn the heads of fence-sitters.
