Can someone please show me how to convert my eico hf-20 amps to triode. They use 6L6 output tubes. I don't know much about circuits but know how to solder as I've been upgrading the caps in these amps to vitamin q caps and they sound great. Thanks.

I will have to give it a try tonight - What 6l6 do you recommend for these eico 20s - Also any other tweak for these amps: by pass tone control, remove loudness switch, etc.... Thanks.
There are quite a few things that you can do to these amps but the mods are dependant on your application. Are they being used as integrated amps or power amps? If you wish you may contact me via email for more information.
I recently typed up the mods that I felt were essential to getting the best possible performance out of the HF-20. Here's the part about trioding the amp.MOD 4) Carefully perform the following steps in order to reconfigure the output stage for Triode operation.
1) Remove the Ultralinear transformer leads from pin 4 of both output tube (6L6) sockets. They will probably be the striped leads ( most likely yellow and blue on one socket and yellow and brown on the other)
2) Isolate the leads. I usually snip off the exposed wire end protruding from the insulation and install a piece of heat shrink on the end. It is okay to leave these wires loose as long as the ends are completely insulated. You can tape them together and stuff them somewhere out of the way if you so desire.
3) Connect a 100 ohm 1watt resistor between pin 3 and pin 4 on each tube socket respectively.
CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE NOW SUCCESSFULLY TRIODED YOUR AMP.
