you know Mike Matthews?
here's where Hendrix copped some inspiration ... [as legend has it]
'The Axis fuzz pedal, also sold under the name 'Foxey Lady'
I'm sure the connection is obvious especially if you check the lyrics to Foxey Lady from 'Axis: Bold As Love'
regards,
Foxey Lady was on the first album. This import was in my collection, I could not resist to post. I also had a few of the Sovtek amps and I even ordered one of their 4x12" cabs. The amps were very well made and sounded nice, but the cab didn't have it. I opened it up and found Russian speakers with square ceramics & thick heavy cones.
I had the Big Muff Fuzz and a few other pedals. People weren't interested much, they all wanted Marshall or newer Fender stuff, Boss pedals. I think the muff was made with germanium transistors too. He was a smart guy to open things up and get the tube factories going again for musicians and audiophiles over there because America was done with all of that. All we had here was leftover NOS. Back in the 90's Russian tubes were a hell of a lot better than the Chinese.
We are all quite fortunate for what he did, I didn't realize it started in the 70's.
I had that Electric Ladyland import! ... the blonde in the middle is ... ?
well ... that's Marianne Faithfull ... she was dating both Hendrix and Mick Jagger at the time and was just a 'budding' pop star at the time ...
budding quite nicely actually
with regards,
