Nos Shure Microphones, Mic Amps,etc.
Tons of sealed boxes of tubes.
Anything to look out for? Forgive if just too broad a question.

I bought two Amperex made in Holland 7119s and four black plate Tung-Sol 5687s in tiny, under size Motorola boxes. All NOS.Tre'

There may be some 12AX7's in the lot. They were used for mic preamps in 2-way radios. And probably some 6146's, and other RF tubes which are useful to ham radio ops.
Thanks. He's shying away from the tubes, tbh, unless he can get them for a buck or less a piece. There are other items like early police radios, and mic's, new and still in boxes that we've discovered are valuable, and early motorola speakers as well as a few early "brick" cell phones that people want for some reason, but we're not complaining.

nothing sweeter than the real thing!

What does that mean, "has access"? The tubes are his for the asking? Or something else? You might consider giving aficionados like us first shot at it if all the tubes become available. Otherwise, the resellers will swoop in and ruin the deal.

I don't know the exact details of the relationship, but the custodians of the warehouse need to be out by week's end. They've taken a few of the "weirder" -looking large tubes but don't seem to care about 20-30 large boxes filled with NOS, sealed boxes of tubes.
In vinyl terms, they're coveting the scratched-up Beatles Lp while about to toss the Martzy Bach sets into the trash. I wish I knew as much about tubes as I do vinyl!
I don't believe they're advertising and are just going to take all to dump.
He's going to offer $200 for all the boxes, while trying to remain dispassionate.
Does he need a partner to go in with some cash? Is this anywhere near Texas? I'd be interested in participating for the purpose of providing affordable tubes to builders and tube lovers who can't otherwise afford to get in the game.

He's going to make his best offer, and I told him about your knowledge and enthusiasm, we'll see what happens.
I can't make any promises but IF the offer is taken, we'll put together an inventory and I'll urge him contact you privately.
jeez ... $200.00 ??? that's a no brainer
a quad of almost anything in those boxes would cover that
well, a sawbuck or two anyway
regards,
Thanks, keep me posted. I have a good inventory of tubes for my own use, but I'm sure that's not the case for a lot of the hobbyists and builders on these forums. Above all, let's hope the lot he found doesn't get tossed out.

Here's one pretty decent tube, one opened, 4 unopened. (Left) And a couple of the larger one.
I was thinking they would probably have some of the external anode tetrodes lying around. The 8877 is a nice one, used to be popular in ham radio HF kilowatt amps. The smaller ones like 4CX150 and 4CX250 were also popular at one time, mostly for VHF repeaters. What do you mean they "pressured him to wrap things up"? I hope you don't mean the rest were thrown away.

I see that Eimacs (new?) go for around $2k. I wonder if NOS is less or more desirable? My friend got five of them, so no complaints. He also grabbed some Tung sols and some other cools stuff for $300 altogether.
As for "winding things up," we've all been there as collectors: one sibling says, "take everything, just buy me a six pack," but then another sibling shows up and is far more cautious and suspicious of anything that one is interested in. Granted, it's their stuff, they inherited after all.
Good news is that it's all going into storage sheds.
" it's all going into storage sheds. "
That's good. Be a major shame to see it hauled to the dump.

ship it to me in Santa Fe.
I'll write you into the 'will' for compensation. :-)
Sounds good, but your speakers are too small, for my tastes. : )
There is lots and lots to look out for. I'd love to find something like that, and I missed something similar by about 6 months. No idea just how badly I missed, but given the description, it was not small...LOL
cheers,
Douglas
