Very excited to see how this turns out. May replace the KT 150's in my newer QuickSilver V4's which are very easy on tubes.

Does not even have the heater power of a 25W plate rated 6CB5A.
How lame....
cheers,

Friend, I would not hurt thee for the world...but thou art standing where I am about to shoot.
The goal is to make tube amps sound as powerful SS amps...
It could be...
I would suggest that that tube exists to be one more skimped on, incrementally larger audio output tube.

Douglas

Kronzilla
Not a stupid tube IMO
And the point is? This one has a fairly healthy cathode heating power. Not the 7.5A of 5V that is required to light up a 4E27 which is only a 75W plate.
cheers,
Douglas

that reminds me of Zarkov's spaceship 'rocket' from Flash Gordon
not sure why ... hope it doesn't spark, flash, and sputter like it
regards,
I loved the way those spaceships landed. Just plopped down. Didn't muss a hair on Buster's head.
Could this thread get any more OT?
if I have any say of course it will!
let's review our pubescent infatuation regarding Ms. Dale Arden as played by the lovely Irene Champlin from 1954 > 1955 in glorious B&W
no seriously, sorry for the thread hi-jack, just couldn't help myself
back to TUBES and BEYOND!
with regards,
Had to look it up, but your Dale Arden was a definite latecomer. Mine was Jean Rogers of the 1936 serial whose "acting" was mostly a series of swoons.
I like swoons, they're kinda sexy
I remember her though, the sister of Steve Rogers
who later became Capt. America ... I might have dreamed this though
anyway ... back to tubes
best regards,
maybe a tangent on Thoriated Tungsten cathodes?
cheers,
Douglas

oh man, don't bust me like that, didn't I say I was sorry!
maybe not, I'd have to look, just use the above comment
my well intended 'humorous' observations 'grow legs' sometimes
other times they just limp ... I do like the sound of Thoriated Tungsten
it's like what a Marvel super villain would say whipping out a super weapon
'you have no chance against this Thoriated Tungsten ray generator Iron Man!'
those sound pretty good while zapping costumed crusaders too!!
best regards,
"No Capes!!!!!"
cheers,
Douglas
hijacking away in MI.

'but thou art standing where I am about to shoot my Thoriated Tungsten Ray!'
'Curses! It's Pasternak!
[hope I spelled that right]
best regards,
