having had most, in MY amp it's either the EL34's or the KT66's. Again, in my amp, I prefer the KT66's for midrange. But I seem to have to bias my amp lower than normal to get there????????/

You might try RCA 6L6GC black plates. I spent a lot of money on old stock Genelex KT66's and then tried RCA 6L6GC black plates and was really surprised how much better they sounded. The amps are Quad II's.
RCA Black Plates Are the best in this application .
There are different kinds. Double getters, single, side etc. Which one do I go for.
