Thanks for all the great information! I just might try one of the other suggested tubes in my Rogue Cronus Magnum. I wonder if I would set the bias the same as the KT120?
Follow Ups:
If your Cronos Magnum operates the same as my Stereo 90 (and I think the amp sections are very similar), you bias KT120/KT90/KT88 at 35ma on the built in meter, and bias KT66/EL34/KT77/6L6gc at 30 ma.
Check with your manual or contact Rogue (great people to work with) if you are unsure.
Try some different output tubes tube rolling is fun with the Rogues!
35 mA always works and you do nothing wrong. but trying some mAs more can make sense and is audible instantly. so with my rogue i had best results in performance in all aspects with KT120 at around 38 mA. pitching the bias up to 40 mA is no problem at all for KT88/90/120 and your amp either. (the rogue´s fuses would blow at 250 mA, right?). running under 35 mA makes no sense. you would notice your amp sounding cold, boring and dreary. over 40 mA the sound from my gear became narrow, harsh and stressed.

"How the fuck did our oil come under their sand?"
Rogue let me know that 35 mA is what they recommend for KT88/90. I'm going to look into them. Thanks for everyone's help!
