Can someone tell me the sonic qualities of the Tungsols vs. say EH EL34 or the EH 6CA7 (I have experience with the latter two). I am contemplating these on my CJ amp

Follow Ups:
I have used all of them. The EH El34 is the best of the bunch. Both the 6ca7 and the TS EL34B are a bit dry in the midrange. The JJ 6ca7 leaves them in the dust, my favorite EL34/6ca7 tube.
Where do you buy your JJs? I really like the E34L and am always looking for places that screen them well, before selling them.JJ 6CA7 is said to be warm with bass emphasis - do you find this to be the case? If so, it might not be the best choice for a CJ amp, unless the OP's taste runs along those lines.

What the amp used for?
i 've tried tung-sol el34b back and forth on my c-j mv50 amp:
first impression is"wow":very strong bass ,nice depth, but after
few hours you discover they are a little bit sterile on mids ,
and you are always looking for something missing ,don't get me
wrong :there is nothing wrong with them, but there is not nothing
special with them.
Go with genalex kt 77 ,you won't regret it .
Good 6ca7 eh are the best value for money in c-j old school amps.
Don't know if this will be of any value, but I have a quad of Tung Sol EL34B and do not like the way they sound in my Dynaco Stereo 70. I suppose they might sound different in another amp, but in my Stereo 70 they are too laid back, the top end is too recessed, and they don't image well - sounds too localized within the speakers. One distinguishing feature of the TS EL34B is the strong bass, which others have commented on.Perhaps if you want a brighter, more open and energetic sound, go with the Electro Harmonix. The Tung Sols will be darker and more laid back, I suspect. Of course, YMMV.
