Does anyone have an opinion of which is a better sounding or more reliable tube? These would be used in a Cary 805AE. Thanks for your time.
Happy listening!

JerryS

I have had Psvane WE211s running in my Cary 805AEs for about 2 months. AWESOME! They sound a bit more forward/brighter than the stock Shuguang 211s. I called Andy at Vintage Tube Services and ended up with 1950s TungSol 6SN7s in the input (left) position, and 1950s RCA 6SN7s in the right position. In my system, this is a truly wonderful combination.
The Psvanes came from Vanessa, at diyaudiotube.com. She was very good to work with on this purchase.
Hi JerryS,
I wa just about to ask for the best 211.
I got 2 pairs of GE (from the navy) for my Ongaku but they will not last forever and I need to get some spares.
I don't want to troll your post anyway.
For a pair of Nagras mono blocks ,I tried the Psvane 845 WE replicas and they were just fantastic.
Best regards,
I placed an order for Psvane WE211 earlier this week. In the limited time that my question was open here and on DIY Audio, no one had direct knowledge of both of these two tubes. But there were a couple of comments - without examples or data - about Psvane usually being the better tube, having better QC, and worth the extra $. We'll see!
If the Psvane WE211 are anything like their WE845s then I'll put money on them outperforming your GEs ... really!
There has been some quality issues with Psvane out of the box but they do not hesitate in replacing bad tubes. After that they seem to last. I've been using a quad of WE845s and my brother, a pair now for years without problems. Still superb sound, the best we've both tried and that includes some highly respected NOS.
