Michael, do you have any NOS USA Raytheon 6CG7 black plate tubes you are willing to let go? I need up to three.
Thanks Michael. I thought I give you a try. I have enough for my project, but wanted spares. I will find them, It may take a year on ebay.
I found one NOS Raytheon on ebay, one NOS in obscure tube dealer in FL and another NOS at Tube World. Tube World is usually the most expensive, the Raytheon 6CG7 at Tube World was cheapest of all at $29.95 go figure.
Interesting you also like true Dumont manufactured 6CG7. I did tube rolling many years ago and came to same conclusion. Either Raytheon black plate or Dumont works fine.
Because of the .6 amp filament I suspect these tubes will last 25000+ hours.
BTW- I only buy NOS, the used tubes take a beating for some reason with grossly unbalanced sections & low readings.
I just your message.I literally have four Raytheon BP 6cg7s and two are labeled Dumont.I use them in one of my pairs of Mc60s and the other in my Mc275.
I teach with a lady whose father in law lives in Redford and he's going into an assisted living facility so they are having to get rid of his old ham gear and sell the house or rent it. Lara said there is stuff in there 60 years old and being he was a hoarder,he has everything from ham radios to old TVs and stereos.I will see her about 12:30 in our commons for lunch so I'll ask her when they plan on liquidating all the stuff. You probably aren't far from Redford but I would guess he would have tons of black plate tubes. If you can't wait, there are these.
