True USA manufacture Raytheon 6CG7 black plate are rare. This tube outperformed all other USA manufacture 6CG7s. The tube is ultra clear sounding and well balanced across the audio range.
NOS is about $30-$40 now (2016) and used vary all over the place. I much prefer NOS as the tubes have balanced sections. Used have for the most part very unbalanced sections. I suspect the circuit the used tubes were used loaded one side of the triode much more than the other side. So, only purchased balanced used tubes with high readings.

Sitting here lisening to a Raytheon 6CG7 in my Schiit Stack. Playing Apple Lossless music from my Apple Mac Mini through a Wywires Platinum USB to my Schiit Modimultibit DAC through Wywires Silver ICs to my Schiit Vali 2 amp through Wywires Red headphone cable to my Mr. Speakers Ether-C 1.1 headphones. I had just pulled my Siemens CCa and decided on something different. Not as good on bass or sparkley treble, but nice and clear as you said. My 6CG7 came from Tube world. Good tube dealer, but not cheap.
You can't possibly audition tubes through all that digital crapola. It's like trying to eval a system on YouTube. Or testing race cars after filling the tanks with 56 octane. Sorry, I don't usually comment on things like this, but it's really too absurd.

Buy Chinese. Bury freedom.
Siemens CCa is likely the best tube ever made.
