My CD player went out of order; it started from interrupting sound (I posted this question to the Digital section).
Today, when I was tipped by an inmate from that forum, I opened the cover and noticed the rectifier tube (WY2) with melted bottom.
It appears that the rectifier tube exploded ands smeared the socket (the contacts were not affected).
I found that the WY2 rectifier has equivalents - 6074 and OB2. I wonder if there are any Russian equivalents for this tube so that I can pick it up locally without spending $20 for shipment?
Thanks in advance.

Who know...maybe, a sudden voltage rise.
But I get your point, serious check is required.
That tube is not a rectifier. It's a voltage regulator.
Yes. And I found plenty of them locally and in the U.S. (Tube World).
But... some of them are marked as "argon gas" and others as "neon gas". What type should I purchase? The seller offers both but does not know what I should buy...
