I suspect a 6V6 certain brand tube in a SE amp sounds different than a PP 6V6 amp using the same brand tube. Thus, my tube choice in PP may be different than yours in SE.

For your PP amps, try them as signal tubes. Phase splitter duty comes to mind. LTP. Resistive load. CCS to the cathodes. Not a lot of gain, but it depends on what they're being fed; you might not need much...:)

Yes, I have. I needed to bias the tube slightly below strong 6V6GT max. Like 10 watts, max per tube. Then, you get a nice clean tone --- not as much compression or early clipping, as a typical 6V6GT.
They will last forever, with this setup.
