Leak TL12+ has lost its 3D imaging would new tubes solve the problem ?
Follow Ups:
One thing that solid state users don't always understand is that imaging is so much better with tubes. I think your tired old tubes could be the reason your music is flat.
Tired old tubes"?
Good for the confirmation.
Now the process of getting new ones.
Thank you.
These tubes being 8 years old even if only played for 6 months a year. The loss of that spatial quality that tubes normally bring to sound is reason enough to suspect the tubes being worn out. If they work well in another amp, where well means good 3d soundstage, it is obviously not the tubes.
Check the bias one the output tubes, first. You may have one that has gotten weak. One-half of the ECC81 may have gotten weak, too. You have access to a tube tester?

Thx for reply.
Access to tube tester?
No!
The tubes are at least 8 years old ( if not older).
They lost their imaging a few years ago. I only use the the amp (s) 6 months a year... and not all the time.
I Just remember the "wow" factor when I first got the mono blocks.
Perhaps familiarity. It just sounds like a transistor amp now ( not really ).
