Isn't microphony primarily due to loose grids and plates? Not vibrating glass envelopes?

I was not referring to microphony but to the harmonic frequency of the glass tube itself. That is what i recall reading about the rationale of the pinched tube. I doubt that my recollection is from a manufacturers literature but more likely from some tube experts own research into the matter.
I've never heard of this. Maybe, because tubes have other, more prominent noise issues, in audio use? But, I'd imagine in military use, glass enclosure harmonics MAY be a problem --- depending on the frequency range of that application.
Must check this out. Thanks!
