Has anyone had an reliability issues with the new ELROG tubes from German (211 an 845)?
Observe, before you think. Think before you open your yap. Act on the basis of experience.
Follow Ups:
Yes. I first purchased a pair of the 845 tubes in 2015 and the base on one of them came loose and I had to return them. I then waited several months for them to be replaced and returned. I finally got the replacement pair and they have worked well, until now. November, 2018. One of them just burned out.
It is difficult for me to recommend the investment for these. I will more likely try one of the Chinese PSVane alternatives.
Hi Dave,
sorry to hear about your problem with the old production Elrog tubes. The former company Elrog went bankrupt in 2016 and I purchased the materials, machines and brand name. The Elrog tubes produced since summer 2016 are completely redesigned. Especially the 211 and 845 got a complete new structure in summer 2017. These solved all the reliability issues of the old production tubes. Of course we are not long enough on the market for any meaningful statistical data, this will take years. So far the failure rate in the field is at a very low rate below 1%. Even with that low rate we examine the fails to further improve the tubes.
Best regards
Thomas
