Walt passed away a few years back, so did Lambadaikas, he was a good one too. His son early should be able to help though... HiFiTown.com or something close to that....

Thanks to you folks thus far. To re-emphasize.... I'm not touching this
unit. It'll remain as is. I'm more than happy listening to music through
the AA131 preamp/AJ31 Tuner/30-A amp that were carefully restored. We'll
see what others can add....

There is no reason to do anything to Western Electric amps as a rule because most everything they used in their amps were the best you could get..They have the hermetically sealed paper in oil bath tub caps..You have the cloth wire with good insulation. The iron is incredible..You have to change a couple small electrolytics but you can do that without destroying its value..Just solder them in.
Honest amplification is better than 2nd order distortion anytime.

Michael,
I'm not sure how this unit is set up. As you'll notice in the photo, there
is no volume pot or on/off switch. I'm not sure how my dad used this back
in the day. I would only be guessing that it was connected with a preamp.
In place of the on/off switch is a power indicator light [?], as you'll
see.

THat one has electrolytics that have to be changed out as they are like my Langevin. The thing is,if you had a second amp,I would go ahead and recap them but for just one amp,it would be silly.See if you come across a second amp and then rebuild them..Those are made by Langevin I think as well.I have a 128.Mine is like this only I don't have the small input transformer in the front.

Here's a shot of the other side as promised...

Michael,
I'm not clear on your last post about aquiring a second amp.
Does this one pictured have the paper in oil caps under that
phenolic strip? Which other electrolytics are you suggesting
would need to be replaced?
I'll let the cat out of the bag here..... I really do not know
a whole lot about audio electronics. I appreciate everyone's input
and patience on this forum.
John
Can we get a picture of the other side?
Definietly.... I'll have to snap one.

Another photo....
