I have the 24LQ7s (power tube) and 6EM7s (vertical oscillator), both from a TV, in an amp as a complete unit. 6EM7 acts as both an input and driver and the 24LQ7 is the power tube.

I used to get a kick out people saying power tube when they call me to fix a tv. Of course in our audio applications, the 24LQ6 are the power tubes and in the TV of course its the horizontal output tube. That sounds the one of the old 13 to 17 inch RCA color sets before they had gone to the 31LO6.
If the power supply waveform isn't pretty, neither is the sound in most cases.
All the ones I have are used pulls.

I would love to build an OTL amp with 6LB6s because I have many.

Perfect sound for Winter!
