Literally pulled out the old, inserted the new, closed the top and...nothing. Replaced the original tubes...nothing. The unit is still receiving power, but there's no input/output activity. Anybody have a similar experience? What did I do wrong? More importantly, anythin I can do to make it right? (If this thread should be moved to pre/amp let me know.) Thanks.

Maybe time to check some B+, plate voltages, and voltages across cathode to ground. I suspect you maybe getting voltage to the heater filaments (separate circuit from the B+) and not plate voltage to certain tube(s).
Since both channels are out, I'd start with the power supply. Usually, most units have a single power supply power both channels. And ANY fuses. Some units have fuses placed onto the circuit board(s) as well as in obvious fuse holders. Check them all. Be systematic, go from power supply to each stage, as if the electricity is flowing like water downstream from one section to the next. Then, check the signal path, from input to output. You should be able to find the culprit.
If you feel uncomfortable dealing with hundreds of volts (and you should!), to the point you don't want to touch the unit's guts while its on... then think about a technician.
Above my head, beyond my safety zone. Think a technician is in order. Thanks all for your input.
Can you post a picture of the replacement tube?
Possibly its not a 5814 and maybe was a unscrupulous relabeling.
...and another of the same.
Pic of the tube.
Do the tubes glow? I agree with a tripped mute circuit as a possiblity.

Fuses all look intact. The tubes don't glow, but the leds onn the cards (boards?) that read U. SE BIAS are lit. Photo below.
FenderLover has given you some additional things to check out above.
But now you tell us the tubes won't glow.- ie no voltage to the filaments. The fuses are good as well.
Do you have a tube tester to check for any shorts in those 5814 tubes ?
I don't know what else to tell you that would help. Other than look by the tube sockets, maybe you broke a lead off a soldered component.
Also, this looks like a remote control unit. Try unplugging it to reset the microprocessor, maybe a Mute relay got stuck. They look like black rectangular boxes. If you can see any mute relays, tap on them with a blunt object, sometimes they get stuck.
Good Luck.
Like Steve said, take a look at see if you accidentally yanked a wire or a ribbon cable. Also, make sure you didn't bump a mute button or tape monitor switch.
If the power supply waveform isn't pretty, neither is the sound in most cases.
I noticed that your unit has some jumper cables running from the board. Any chance one of these came loose?
