Any reason not to switch the OB2s in preamp power supply to zener diodes?
Follow Ups:
Noise supression is needed with zeners as the SS zener is noisy at the knee operating area. Bypass with .01uF cap on each zener in a string of zeners. I would also apply a 2uF cap on the output. Thus, I only use zeners in applications exceeding say 50ma current vs the tube regulator.
...but be aware high voltage zeners are VERY noisy.

For that reason, and temperature co-efficient of high-voltage Zeners, probably better to use a series string of 12V or so units than one high-voltage, higher-power unit. Won't ge the cool glow, however.
