It's quite possible that Freed did the Cit V too. But I've NEVER been able to confirm it. If I ever do I'll post it for sure!

HK used many tranny vendors, including Chicago Standard(Stancor) and Magnetic Windings. If you could enlarge and raise the height of the core of the Magnetic Windings trannies found in the A-50 or A500 integrateds, they sure would look like the Citation V. But, the Citation V has such a tall stack of core, it is like a junior Optimation amp's opt...
I think the 250W EL34 Optimation amp has the largest hifi core I've seen...
Many of the vendors used in the Harman-Kardon branded line apparently did not provide product for the Citation line though.
