RCA never made 6DJ8 tubes. Most RCA 6DJ8/ECC88 or E88CC label types could be from any source.
Follow Ups:
As you probably know, RCA sourced alot of 6DJ8s from Siemens and Philips.I've got a couple pairs of Siemens Munich made 6DJ8s with RCA label and "Made in West Germany" on the RCA box. They also sound very nice in my Heart CD6000.
When I was using a Bottlehead Foreplay 3 tube linestage driving a solid state amp I preferred the Siemens. With my current solid state linestage driving the same amp I prefer the warmer Amperex/Philips.
Yup, RCA did source ECC88/E88CC/E188CC tubes from just about everywhere. You can see RCA label Sylvania, Amperex US or Holland made, Siemens, Matsushita etc. etc. Search for the text "RCA label" in the search box in the tube pic lib link below for some examples.
Some fake RCA's that are Russian tubes with recently printed RCA label have started to appear on ebay, Europe and far eastern markets. You can easily spot these from typical Russian saucer shaped solid getter, and solid mica spacers and the printing style.
Thanks for the link. I've had your site bookmarked for quite some time ;)
I have found it to be very helpful and truely appreciate your efforts...
BTW, those RCA labled Siemens with the orange label in the ECC88 section are exactly what I was refering to above.
Regards,
Wayne
