you need to give yourself some time to understand a tester and what the readings may and may not mean. Most Hickoks are safe bet but then you want to know that it is operating correctly. A decent one. Google tube tester guide and you'll get lots more.

Sounds like an easy thing to accomplish. But. Unfortunately, that is very hard to accomplish.
A simple triode can be used at least 3 different ways. Within each of those ways, there are many different operating "points".
It seems as if one must know why a particular tester tests a tube in the manor it does, and then be able to relate that reading to how your gear uses that tube, before you will know if the tube is "good" in your circuit.
