I just acquired an amp and it had 4 of these tubes. Can anyone tell me about these? Are they fake or a 'real' Brimar. No other markings on them. If they are 'real' what would a NOS pair sell for?Cut-Throat
Follow Ups:
Those are real. They sell for decent money, too. I find them to be too veiled on the high end. A very warm tube, overall. The clear glass 1950s Brimars are much more to my liking--no loss of high end detail, yet still very musical. In fact, they are my fav 6SN7 now, after a lot of experimenting.

I only have the 6SN7GT clear glass so far. Great tubes.

I have a pair of brown base black glass that are labled CV1988 and 6SN7GTY.
Also have a pair of taller bottle black glass labled 6SN7GT.

Quite warm and not very detailed. Bass is flabby.

They sure enough look like the real deal to me. I'd figure they'd fetch between $175 and $200 a pair ... maybe more.
Anyone?
