Can anyone give me a heads up on tube related events in New York City (particularly of the DIY/SET persuasion rather than Cary/CJ high end gear)? Shops here, probably anywhere, aren't particularly welcome to discussing topics relevant to this particular sect. Given that NYC is/was home to AES, New York Audio Labs, Brooklyn Transformers, hosted NY Noise, etc, I assume there must be something. Please don't tell me the movement is limited to the west coast/northwest...
Any other tubeheads nearby?
Thanks Darren for bringing this issue up,I understand that J.C. Morrison and his fellow DIYers will be having their get-together soon, in March (at J.C.'s loft in Hoboken, NJ, , I think), but I don't know the specifics.
I'm hoping that someone here might be able to provide the information (time, place, how do we get invites/or what do we have to do to get in the doors) so that we can attend.
So, if anyone has any information (Doc B, maybe) could you please post it here or e-mail me and Darren. I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Jose
Mikey told me the 16th, I think?
Last year the event was invitational, because even though jc's pad is big, there is a limit to how many you can squeeze in, even in 4K square feet.
I'd check to see if this year's deal will be invitational as well.
I'd like to get back there to see the gang, but it ain't in the cards this year, way too much going on here in the action packed Poulsbo suburbs.
the noise event is on march 11th....send an email to blackie (via www.tubesville.com) for directions on how to get in...
this year will be even wackier than last.... i hear the raven R3 will be in the house... as well as an amp without resistors... how about a single tube 300B amp with line level inputs... an homage to sakuma with the 10 and nickel... and not to mention some of the finest chasis work that side of the hudson ever and a purty blue glow for no extra charge...

Where will the blue glow be coming from Dave, the TV? Steve Rochlin's laptop screen?. . . . I think not!
See ya there, bring my rooskies with ya?
