Hi!Has anybody listened both Primaluna Prologue 1 and 2? 1 is equipped with EL 34s and 2 with KT 88. Which one sounds better and why?
In general, do you prefer EL 34 or KT 88?

I just received my Prologue Two. I chose this over the One for the upgraded components, but mostly for the ability to educate myself on both EL34 and KT88 sound. With the Two, I have the ability to safely run EL34's in it, with the One I could not safely run KT88's. Being new to tubes, both the ease and simplicity of this amp, and the ability to educate myself with it made the Two a winner! And the sound! Amazing for the $$$. I don't know if I will ever be able to return to the world of SS. The fleixibilty of the Two made the decision for me, maybe it could for you too?
I own the Prologue One and am extremely happy with it. I haven't heard the Two but here is what Kevin Deal at upscale audio told me in an email." In a nutshell, the ProLogue Two will have a little more dynamic and punch than the One. It will also have a smidge more clarity and detail, due to the upgraded capacitors and fast-recovery diodes. The ProLogue One is smoother sounding."
