I was given some 6h8c (6n8s, western)Russian tubes that we both thought would be a drop in for 6sn7. I did put them in my amp Veeeeeerrrrry briefly to try them. In my amp the drivers are 6sn7.The russian tubes ,as soon as they started to warm up began to buzz through my speakers, so out they came! I looked them up, only finding info on a Russian site, and they seem to spec out very close if not identical to the 6sn7. Any ideas?

I got brave and tried them again. At first they seemed to be lacking but after a couple hours of blues they are becoming quite toneful.

  I thought so too. And because of the result I'm leary of trying them.
