    Apparently epay doesn't appreciate being party to jokes thru spoof auctions, esp. if the joke is on a (debatably) legitimate seller. Wouldn't surprise me if RJC or counsel complained to epay and appropriate action taken.

  The wording of this listing, with as many childish references: to working in the cheapest equipment, gold being a poor conductor, the pre-approval for bidding, "limited to 1000 tubes", the moniker including "not real", the zero feedback-

  equals:

  -a prank listing contrived by someone with a slightly ominous obsession. Someone maybe not a million routers away from this site..

  I presume that those applying to be bidders will instead learn there are no tubes and be tunrned down with insults and/or emailed a long list of the desperate evils wrought upon the unsuspecting World by the "real" jazzcat.

  To review: Generally, a fun idea and possibly a public service that took effort and presumbly some expense, but a little subtlety would have made it more interesting and funnier.

  ..... the plating is much better than the gold spray paint looking, won't fit a socket pair of EI "Elite" Gold 12AX7's I got a few months back. Maybe his game is known far and wide enough by now that the tube will stay at .99 and somebody can snatch it up at that price ..... that ought to ruin his week :-)

  Duh?! Gold is not a good electrical conductor? Last time I kooked it was the best. Not sure here it will do anything unless the tube socket likewise has gold pinning. It will prevent oxidation on the tube pins. Why would anyone do this?? Maybe he thingks he's RS.

    gold is worse than copper, and far worse than silver. Only benefit is no oxidisation, though for silver this isn't a big issue. Look again, I think you have been misled.
