Now that's why I love this forum. There is almost always someone willing to offer help on a level that even a dolt like myself can understand. The amazing part is that my guess on the 390 ohm was basicly correct, but I have also realized that I simply don't know enough about pentodes. Time to study up a little more...break out the tube manuals. I also found an article written by Kimmel himself that seems to be written in language that I can understand. A link is included for anyone else who might be intersted.
