Hello
Does anyone ever recieve transformers from this man that ordered the transformers internationally. Iam in Austrailia and I bought and payed shipping to this crook over 12 mounths ago(I stopped counting after 12 mounths)and never received them .I know of another guy that got ripped off in Ausi too. The story he usally stalls you with is they where lost in transit.Untill it to late to leave feedback. What amazes me is he is still trading on ebay! how does he do it?
Can anyone help me a way to get my transformers or money back?Perhaps a real address so I can file a complain of fraud?

Follow Ups:
Hi,I received some transformers from him about a year ago and I had to email him constantly about them and they took over five months to arrive. I would not do business with him again for that reason and also the reasons sited below. Plus all of his auctions on eBay are now private which helps him cheat people.
That way maybe you could "payback" that con-artist and ebay all in one go.
I would bet that E-Bay will sue your ass in no time...when that is the case! Greedy Bunch that E-Pay!
Well, I've been waiting 6 months now myself (I'm in Canada) and I'm getting all the same excuses as everyone else. Finally "she" says that the transformer shipped 2 weeks ago. Should I get my hopes up?
Don't think so!
As you all say, Ebay doesn't care and just sends you generic reply emails.
But I have found a way to get him lots of negative feedback which you will see me post faster then I paid him, which was fast!

I found the thread below that was interesting. It seems David Lucas used to do a DIY ESL speaker kit. This operation went under and left many customers holding the bag. This is the type of individual that should be hunted down and dealt with via a little street justice.

I ordered a ST70 transformer from him on ebay. I received it in about 8 weeks. I let it sit around for several months before starting an ST70 restoration project - guess what? The transformer will not fit the chassis cutout. I contact him and the response was that there were a number of different ST70 power transformer sizes -- howwever, I've only ever seen one. He did offer to replace the unit, provided I ship mine back first, but given the reputation, I didn't risk it. Just kept the transformer and figured I'd eventually use it in something else. Kind of a shame the company is run so poorly because it seems like he's got the potential for a good niche and price point.

I went through the exact same thing (shocker).I decided to drill another hole and mount the PT best I could. Besides in not fitting, it turns out it hums worse than an original.
In addition to not shipping he also has exubri shill the prices up. Ebay completes five million transactions a week. They have no time for small timers like Handwound. I'm surprised he does not get a lot more bad feedback but I guess some people he stiffs just wait too long to post it.

Kinda cute that the most recent items he has up for auction are being bid by "private" bidders. And love those responses to negative feedback--"BIDDER UNREASONABLE!" and "Even winders need a break!"

Thanks people I might try a paypal fraud complaint next.

Yes, the guy who runs the Handwound operation, David Lucas, sure is a THIEF !
I bought a pair of his transfomers via Ebay 7 months ago, paid immediatelly via Bidpay ($ 180, including shipping) and have since not received the transformers.
I live in Europe and Lucas makes excuses (when he replies) in the way that you mention.
After I insisted he informed me one month after I paid him of the shipment tracking number (but since it is a USPS shipment, only the person who ships, has the right to claim to track down the shipment with USPS). Shipping was supossed to be via insured USPS surface parcel mail (the only reasonably priced way), so I knew I had to wait quite a while. I emailed Lucas regularly and he said first I should wait longer for the shipment to arrive, then he said he would put a claim with the USPS, then he stopped responding when I requested to be sent a proof of the item being shipped. I am sure that he lied and he simply "invented" the USPS shipping registration number in the first place. The last two responses via email were done via his "secretary" who signs her with the name of Jane (with David Lucas I wonder if she exists, or he himself signs with her name), who says David is not available due to an ilness in his family... (for 2 months time now...).
Anyhow by that time I was well over the 3 months ebay deadline for claiming anything on him via Ebay. I have communicated with a few other people who got cheated by David Lucas and they all say that Ebay does not care to do anything about the way Lucas uses Ebay for stealing from people!
Those who live in USA may have better recourse to some action to recover your loss but we who live overseas don't and David Lucas can go on stealing from us - and he obviously knows from with whom he can afford to do so. It surprises me that Ebay is so damn greedy that even though they have been informed by several people about David Lucas's scam, ebay still supports his criminal activities!
This guy has got guts. This is his second audio scam.
Just wait, one day he is going to cheat some broke, disgruntled hobbyist.I'm suprised ebay hasn't shut him down already. Good luck getting your money back.

I am loooking at a pair of his Mk.iii output tx's. We'll see if he answers my question. Location is given as Pennsylvania, so he can't be more than about 3 1/2 hours away from me in case I decide to save myself the shipping bill and pick them up.
regards,
Douglas

ADVOID Handwound transformers unless you like losing your money. Ordered a transformer 2 months ago, still waiting. I have noticed some people get their unit within a month after paying, other get the shaft. I have filed a fruad complaint with PayPal, don't know if it will do any good, but this guy needs to be shut down. Some have complained that the quailty is not that good, that figures.

I bought a power transformer from him this spring. I'm in the states and knew going in that it would take a bit of time. I paid for the transformer with Paypal in April and sent monthly reminders. Every time there was a new excuse and the promise that my transformer would go out that week. The excuses were quite imaginative and sufficiently believable that you had some hope. After 4 months I threatened to contact Paypal and complain. Within 2 weeks my transformer was shipped. I had asked for a pewter transformer and got a black one, but at this stage I'm not sending it back. It actually looks like a nice transformer, its just the way of doing business thats annoying. So they will ship eventually but it may take a bit of a threat to get them moving. I'd write to them saying you will complain to every agency imaginable including Ebay, the post office or whatever means he said he would use for shipping, and whatever means you used to pay.
That sucks the guy is a pain to deal with and if you have a problem he is slow to respond. I'm currently checking out another source for Iron. Sorry to hear you got completely stiffed !
