I have found many CDs suffer from old master tapes. For instance, the album 'You', by Gong, needs the highs turned up a bit, as they are somewhat muffled compared to the LP from earlier years. The original CD of Genesis TLLDOB, the low frequencies were almost nonexistent, compared to the LP version. Having a way to adjust the frequency balance is handy.
