Is it okay to snub diodes and caps in a voltage doubler situation?

Yes, it's OK to snub, but maybe not necessary. HK produced a number of amplifiers using both single and series rectifiers in doublers. They used the 500V silicon diodes of that era, yet didn't find it necessary to include snubbers. I own the amplifier represented by the partial schematic below. It's roughly 50 years old and has never experienced a power supply failure.

Yes, The caps are so small and the resistors so large that they will have no impact on the function of the doubler.
