Has anyone seen HK output transformers like these? They're supposedly for the A500, but every A500 and A50K I've seen used horizontal mount transformers recessed into the chassis. In addition to that, these transformers have the word "SPECIAL" stamped on the housing under the part number (FT3824638). That's the correct part number for the A500, but the stamping looks odd. It's much larger and more prominent than I've ever seen on HK transformers. Any ideas?

If they're really for an A500 variant with 7355 outputs, and if the factory didn't redesign them as part of the "SPECIAL" treatment, then they're about 3.8K plate-to-plate. That's the primary impedance of stock A500 OPTs.

Old post from Mike
The A700 and nearly all other models did use vertical output transformers. So did their receivers. As far as I know, only the A500 and A260 (6L6GC) integrated amps were horizontal. Maybe hennfarm is right, these might be from a console or other variant. It seems odd that the factory wouldn't have used a different part number for a transformer that won't physically interchange. Anyway, I've never seen these before, was just hoping someone might be able to identify them.

Out of some old console possibly?
