hum question for electricians ... house electric meter

The electricity meter in our house hums audibly and the transformer in my amplifier hums at exactly the same pitch.
Does anyone know what I might be able to do about it?
Could it be a problem with the meter or must it be from the electricity supply to the house?

More than likely what you are hearing is normal 60 cycle ac power.
