I owned a set of these.
I liked the 810 better.
Yes, they image well but they are bright.
they sound best in a small bedroom.
They are good in a larger room, but not by them selves.
If you use them in a large room with a subwoofer, it can get real intresting.
Then you get the huge image of the horn and you are far enough away to negate the brightness.
I feel JBL could have done a better job voicing these,
These need the back wall or they get THIN.
Sure, they image better out from the back wall, but they sound like shit.
Overall, They are ok, but just ok.
The good bass in smaller room masks the brightness.
Kinda like a plain Jane with make up on!
However, used correctly with a sub in a medium to large room can produce good sound
