open baffle speaker measurements as detailed as JA One's speaker measurements in Stereophile. Very strange that with so many sophisticated cabinet designs around, a humble slab of plywood can challenge the sound quality. Maybe deep bass is a compromise but how many $350 speakers achieve going deep down? And so easy for DIY guys to build.

The late Siegfried Linkwitz's website has all of the theoretical and practical information on open baffle speakers, including several designs for DIY construction from two way to four way systems.
Linkwitz was also a proponent of active speaker design, so multichannel amps are used in all of his designs to eliminate the inherent problems in passive crossovers.
Likely the bible of open baffle speaker design.
the Betsy would sound even better if it were a perfect circle. I am planning a DIY with a 6 inch driver. Save money on the cabinet and spend it on better driver is an attractive idea.

If you, the OP, are interested in the art, science, and...well... everything else... of open baffles, you might want to pick a rainy weekend, brew up a pot of tea, get a tray of tasty snackkies, and peruse the 212-ish page behemoth of a thread on OBs that sprouted & took root at AK some time back (EDIT: in the year 2014, in fact).The signal to noise ratio may be poor, but there's plenty of content to pore through.
More than one route to the top of the mountain, as they say. ;)

Sorry I dont think Stereophile has reviewed Betsy. I was only wishing that somebody would review with detailed measurements, as detailed as what JA One uses for his reviews of speakers. I am curious to know how a cabinet less speaker can challenge theories of physics made applicable through Acoustic Suspension, ported, horns and Small Thiel differential equations.

Thanks. I saw some time back a video on Decware where an elderly slim tall gentleman slowly adjusted a pair of Betsys and sat on a sofa listening to some soft jazz. A little later he seemed to relax deep into the cushions and I was sure he had gone asleep. It sounded so great. I wonder if the gentleman was the designer. I did not give much credibility to a plain slab of wood challenging sophisticated boxes designed by brilliant brains. Now I realize there are possibilities of curved panels, circular panels and even Meta ones. Opens up several possibilities.

... and Caintuck Audio sells 'em; they probably don't "want" DIY knockoffs out there.That said, since the driver dimensions (diameter) are, presumably EIA standard, it ought to be pretty easy to figure out the dimensions from photographs if you really want to build one.
Or just go with the JE Labs OB, which offers supreme flexibility (and probably better LF cutoff to boot).
EDIT: OK, I am now confused. Wild Burro Audio has a driver called the Betsy, but that also seems to be tied to the aforementioned Caintuck OB loudspeaker product. I assume that the question is about the latter(???).

1) I see a price of $549 on the Caintuck website for the Betsys (FWIW).
2) If you're just curious about the baffle dimensions, I do apologize for my snark -- your posts sounds like you want to bypass Caintuck in acquiring a pair, though.

JE Labs open baffle with Goodmans of England 201s as the main driver with a EV T35B sitting on that to shelf doing the tweeting.
Not until I got my Edgar 'slim-lines', did I find anything close.
