Do you know what the difference is between the L300e and the L310 is?Cut-Throat
Follow Ups:
The 310 was made after Directed Electronics bought ADS.
The 310 has a "plastic" woofer of some sort, while the 300 is paper.
The tweeters are different too.
I've never compared them so don't know what the sonic difference is.

Bought a pair of L310s AW (Upgrades to the 300e) this morning. They cost more (they go for $200) as they have better components from my research (Non Foam Woofer, Better Binding Posts etc.).... thanks for the tip.... We'll see how they 'stack up' against my other small speakers.....Cut-Throat

...stands for "all-weather".
I'm not sure all 310s are that way and what difference the "AW" has on sonics. I didn't keep up with ADS after they got sold.
Best of luck. I hope you like them.
If not, try a set of L300e. BTW, the L300e has a rubber surround, not foam ...at least all the ones I've seen.

I think the Robust Binding Posts sold me on the deal... Also, I know that for certain that the L300 had foamed Woofers that eventually had to be replaced.. Maybe that was the Difference between the L300 and the L300e.... For sure the L310 had Rubber surrounds.... I Don't want any foam woofer rot!

L300's had rubber surrounds when I sold them in the 80's.

I think the started making them in the 70's, so it could be from before I started selling them.

...and the surrounds were rubber.
If the 300 ever had foam surrounds, it was likely a re-badged Braun product.

Yes, I knew that the AW stood for All Weather..... The Seller had both the L300e and the L310aw and I had asked him about both speakers for sale and how they compared... Here is what he said.....
"The 310s had a bit more depth to me ( in as much as a small 3-4' mid bass driver can produce). Imaging was same, as was the timbre and tone of vocals and instruments."
So, I decided to pop for the extra $50 and go for the L310s.

...that little box has a 5.25" woofer in it.
They are really impressive for their size.
Best of luck with them.
