Good afternoon,
I have a bud who has Paradigm Monitor series 7 speakers. Of which I enjoy. Recently got a Yamaha RXV 483 receiver and am looking into floor mounted speakers. Was going to go with the Paradigm, but notice that the JBL Loft 50's are on sale for the pair for $300 (savings of about 700 dollars)
Should I stick with the Paradigm's or go with the JBL's for best bang for your buck and sound quality?
I look forward to your guys feedback.
Follow Ups:
Paradigms. I have bookshelves loft 40 speakers. And i know they are bookshelves. But nothing at all outstanding. I think if your getting up in that amounts of money you might just as welltry Elac. But maybe the jbl s have it where the bookshelves are pretty ordinary
The real deal in JBL is the Synthesis line which uses mostly their Pro drivers. Maybe see if any good deals on LS60 or 80. IMO the'd be better than the Paradigm. I heard and HT system with a Cambridge receiver and all LS speakers, it was really impressive.
I have not heard the Loft series, my guess, the Loft would be more of a flat response with emphasis on the midbass, where the 7's the tweeter or higher end would be emphasized.
A friend of mine had the 7's and replace the tweeter to get a more balanced sound. His were several years old though. If you've heard the 7's and like them, that's a sure bet. However, you could buy the JBL from some place online that would allow a return if not happy, then you'd knowfor sure.
Keep in mind any speaker out of the box will require some break in time to sound the way it should.
For sound quality Paradigm's. For style and smaller footprint the JBL's. I had Monitor 11's which I thought were very good for the money.

I don't have experience with either particular model, however Paradigm and all Paradigm's I've heard are absolutely fantastic. If you enjoy Paradigm stick with it.
Stay away from the JBL Loft 50's because they are way too placement critical.
If you get them just right, as far as distance away from the back and side walls, they are pretty decent, but they are way too sensitive to exact placement.
