Recently I retired my Magnepan 2.5's as my current listening room isn't large enough for them (9x11), and bought a pair of new Totem Acoustics Arro's. I've now have had several listening sessions with them and their starting relax and open up and lose the thinness. I have them paired with with two Bowers & Wilkins subs set at 50hz. I am blown away with the life sized and holographic soundstage I'm getting and how easy the walls disappear. The instrument placement is outstanding and you don't get the box speaker sound at all, sound envelopes the listener. The center of the soundstage is unreal and all you do is plop them down and point them straight ahead and then adjust the width until the proper center stage is achieved.
Integrating the subs was super easy and I have a seamless and invisible transition between the subs and the Arro's. The bass is very fast on the Arro's as are the subs which creates nice room energy without any boominess or otherwise. The Arro's sound nice and weighty and very balanced and have in refible detail and cohesion. Nary a hint of sibilence in the upper regions, female vocals just don't get conjested or fatiguing, rather they sound relaxed and powerful.
I have no room treatments and don't feel the need with the Totem's.

That way you can put whatever component you have on the table in front of the right speaker on the shelf where the television is sitting. I don't see how you can get optimum performance out of your Totems with that table in the way.

Actually, the Totems are rather forgiving due to their ability to disperse in a very wide field and that I have repositioned the cd-player.

That sounds like a sweet setup you got there.
I wanted to get an original Ah Tjoeb CDPs years ago. I wasn't in the position to get one at the time. Marantz makes some of the best sounding DACs in the business - even to this day so enjoy.
I also had one of the original Foreplay. I liked it's sound but never got it to stop humming. The guys over at Bottlehead were great but it didn't work out. I always remember thinking that Foreplay had a wonderful sound - Darn!!!
My Foreplay is silent and is the best sounding pre I've had. Yes, the Marantz Ah Tjoeb is a fine CD player

Congrats, Bigjimsguitars. That's a fine system you have. Totem makes some fine speakers. I always enjoy listening to them.
Cheers,
Scott
