I have an opportunity to get rebuilt Cizek Model 1s.
Might someone tell me if they, 2-way acoustic-suspension speakers, can be placed flush against a wall and still perform/sound optimally?
My current speakers, Dahlia IIIs, are also 2-way acoustic-suspension and sound, to my ears, quite musical placed against the wall.
Placement is what it is. There is no other choice...
Electronics are Sonic Frontier SP1 pre + McCormack DNA 125 power amp. Most critical listening is to classical, Haydn trios to Mahler 8th...

Follow Ups:
I had Cizek model 3's many years ago, very nice speakers. If I recall I had them within a few inches of the wall, or possibly against the wall. Most pictures I have seen of the Model 1 has it on a low stand some distance out from the wall. There appears to be a good review (see link below) on the model 1, but it is an image (not text) and in Italian. If you can translate it, it may say something about placement in the room.
The 'Q' switch on the front panel might possibly be utilized for a next to the wall placement. One position or the other will probably sound better.
Good luck, a pair of restored model 1's would be a nice find.

Let us know how the Cizek speakers sound.
