Do you know if anyone has used these with planers or electrostatics. Are they fast enough?
Follow Ups:
"Bass cannot be slow or fast, but it can be reproduced and heard when you are supposed to hear it, or it can be out of time with the rest of the music."The rise time of a 100Hz or 85Hz waveform - or even that at twice that frequency is well within the relm of these subs. They are ported - with nice flared (no Wheeze) ports.
I do recommend two, left and right, at that price two is a no brainer. With the MMG-W's I use the higher cutoff frequency.
The low pass frequency lags in phase so a side (closer than mains) placement works pretty good.

Thank you.. May I ask if there are any clear advantages over sealed woofers rather than ported ones for planers? Thanks.
Sealed can have boomy or tight base depending on the tuning. The ported designs also can be tuneds for a "tight" base (underdamped).
Limitations of a sealed box are worries about a stiff and vibrating cabinet - bad at the low price point. A ported woofer exchanges that for the problem of port turbulence noise. Most the time sealed box equals tight base (or reflex = Boomy base) is just a perpetuated audiophile myth. btw "FAST" bass is also a myth
Properly designed, either works (as do infinite baffle, dipole and passive radiator designs)

Sealed usually has tighter bass with greater depth but at the expense of efficiency. If more music oriented then sealed, home theater ported if going for ultimate slam. This is definitely an over simplification but hopefully this helps with your question.

Thanks . It is what I will look for. Rhythmic has a great rep but they are expensive. (some post spoke of quality control problems?)
