The Dayton Sub-1200 is an awesome sub I often recommend, heck I have two of the earlier iterations in my main system, it's just the OP mentioned looking for a compact sub. This would usually mean recommending a 10" or even as small as 8" for the diminutive dimensions of the Canton. The passive nature of the Canton can make it a bit harder to integrate, and be more selective of the mains chosen, but I've paired them with the Minimus 7 with great results, along with the Optimus Pro X77's it was kind of a magical pairing, the Linaeum tweeter can really sing.

Mine is also an audio/video system with a pair of Rythmik 12-inch Servo Subs.
I've admired your system in other threads, the highly musical SQ of servo subs can't be denied, and the advantages of running any sub in stereo the same. That particular model in the high gloss black lacquer is the closest sub I've seen to my Infinity Modulus, I can only imagine the ease of which the twins handle the subterranean depths. When the opportunity to snag another Modulus sub at a reasonable (read ridiculously low) price comes along.............

Mucking around the low-end since 1986.
Not much difference if the subs are crossed over low enough with a steep enough slope to avoid any bleed over, but this is rarely the case. It's typical to low pass the sub around 80Hz with content well into the range where it's easily localizable. The subs pictured above are low passed at 52hz and I still prefer the greater soundstaging I get when running as a left and right. It's kind of like those speakers that were so popular from many manufacturers yrs ago with built in powered subs. The Heresys are running full range with the subs in close proximity allowing the Heresys to retain there original character, JUST BIGGER.
My $$$$$ very expensive servo sub runs in mono because I only have one, but even with its super steep slope, low passed again at 52hz it always sounds best when either centered between the mains, or in either front corner firing across the front wall giving the illusion the whole wall is the sub.
Either way, I'm sure the situation would be improved with a second sub.
That said, properly set up the single servo sub trounces the Dual Daytons, it should, it was 20 times the price of one of the Dayton Sub1200's.
