At least 1 sub will be in this setup. Probably looking under a grand used and yes it will be playing loud as I use this system to flood music onto the pool deck and out into the driveway when entertaining. I will eventually add a set of out door speakers for the pool deck but honestly the sound carries well from the location behind the bar.
The location of the speakers are not ideal but I do a fair amount of listening to this system.
The room is about 600 square feet (2.5 car garage) double doors to the side of the system which opens onto a pool deck and 1 window to the side of that.
Follow Ups:
I'd find a pair of used ADS 510's or 400's and the like. Not subtle speakers so a nice sound for semi-outside listening. I'm assuming the pool music is not classical or jazz.
I would look into M&K professional speakers (George Lucas' favorite speakers) - they can go loud and sound good and durable.
The Vandersteen VLR or VSM-1 would fit the bill!
