I didn't go through all the pics.

Thanks for the effort!
But those are the current model, they moved the woofer to the bottom.
Mine are the first generation, Mark 1.
Sarcophagus to say the least!
I owned a 69 Opel GT in the early 70's and ended up having to remove a section of the steering column shaft to access and tighten some of the oil pan bolts.
Figured that there must be a simpler way, so called the mechanic who had done engine/transmission/suspension mods on the car and his reply was "nope, you've got it figured out".
Hopefully their reply will involve less work.
They basically told me I would have to cut open the cabinets to get to the cross over. They also wouldnt share any info on the crossover schematic, which I guess is understandable.I found a cheap boroscope on line, and if it comes down to it, will scope the cabinet to see where they are mounted. I'm hoping not on the bottom of the speaker, which would be the best entry point.
Whats also peculiar is there is a down firing 12 inch woofer, and the mounting flange is on the side of the inaccessible portion of the cabinet, how they serviced these is beyond me.
However, these listed retail for over $20,000 brand new in the 90's. Perhaps they never intended for them to be serviced, only replaced for perhaps the relatively few failures.
But they definately changed the design looking at the Mark 4 pics you sent, and eventually moved the woofer to the bottom of the cabinet, with easy access.

that it's located close to the binding posts.
Half German myself- my last name actually means German in Polish.
So some interesting developments last night. After messing with the multimeter enough, I decided to give it a whirl and just hook up a cheep receiver to see if the x-over's would pass a music signal. Both speakers passed a music signal to the cone drivers, however one of the cone drivers is a dud-only crackles, the other I played for about an hour, although it sounded lame due to the crushed cones and well, a HK receiver 45 WPC receiver. So I think I'm out of the woods....
