I found a number of full range and very large OB designs but no smaller designs.
Any out there in kit form or even production form?

The Betsy already mentioned is the smallest(8")pure open baffle that comes to mind. It's still a floorstanding speaker though whose profile is very low in height. If you're looking for a more full range design in a pure open baffle, maybe the Spatial M4 Turbo S. Once again, a floorstander with 2-12" drivers, but fairly manageable in size. There are a few hybrids out there as well. These would have an open baffle driver for the mid/highs with a second driver in an enclosure for the bass. Check out Omega in this regard if you're looking for a standmount approach.
With this all said and once again this has already been mentioned, go over to the Open Baffle forum at AudioCircle. There you'll find an endless number of DIY approaches plus discussions of designs currently in production. Open baffle designs are dream for DIYers as you'll find out.
You will find a lot of interestíng designs on the Internet.
Have a look at Martin Kings website.
I have been playing on OB for years now and I can not imagine going back to box speakers.

I once saw a small speaker named Betsy. I dont remember the site but could be Decware. An elderly gentleman was enjoying Jazz on it and fell asleep.

........
as often the case with ' monitors '
and they sit on the same surface you sit near
they can be just big enough to support the driver .
usable as Monitors

Did you ask in the OB forum at Audiocircle?
Don't worry about avoiding temptation. As you grow older, it will avoid you.

I would go to the AudioKarma website and sign up and ask there. Good luck!
