"26 - 40 Hz" is almost an octave (without looking, I think it's about a major sixth). And, -10 dB is, at mid-frequencies, subjectively half volume level. Even more at low frequencies. An astute observer would conclude that the "specs" are a bit useless, maybe even a little misleading.

The first review on these Yamaha ns-5000's are a real ear opener! Yamaha has done it again!
Again!? When did Yama do it the First time??
The first time was with their Soavo NS F901's that are still on the market here for only $$$4000 a pair.
So other than a forward upper midrange and floppy bass its good ?
As you can see in this thread below the $$$5000 Yamaha Soavo f901's gets you very close to the audio performance of the new $15000 Yamaha ns 5000's!
