Hi all, I've been having some speaker problems in our large restaurant and want to make sure I'm getting the right info before I purchase a new amp. The problem is the current set up is shorting out the volume switches in each section and has fried the speaker selector.
What I have is a 402-VZL mixer going to a Rialto 200 watt amp to a Sonnance speaker selector to 4 Definitive AW6500 speakers (max 200 amps), 4 EVO 6.2 Speakers (max 200 amps) and 2 bathroom canister speakers that I don't have specs for.
I'm not using the company that installed this system anymore and the solution of the new company is to swap the amp for a 12 zone amp giving me 70 watts to each speaker and get rid of the speaker selector. As is I'm getting 20 amps to each speaker.
Does this seem like a solution?
Thanks!

Welcome! joel,
yes, you are on the right track. Happy Listening!
That sounds like a solution. Then could you control volume to each zone from the mixer? If the amp is a true 70 watts per channel, that should be more power than you'd ever need just for background in a restaurant.
