"Not his deal."Then, it might have been better to let him buy what he had in mind, or maybe suggest an upgraded version. He may have been happy with it, instead of dealing with, so far, the three issues which you've brought up.
Not to be insulting, just observing, but from your threads (so far) asking about spikes, tweeter foam, and subwoofer, it would seem that you see yourself as more audio-knowledgeable than you really are.
I know of a couple who owns a Bose Wave Radio/CD player, and they're happy drinking Straccali Chianti and Perroth whatever. They're happy with it. When I'm at their home, I'll bring a bottle of something I like and am pretty sure they'll like, and maybe some music I know they'll like. But I'd never suggest that their Bose sounds like a minor upgrade from a Walkman and tell them to buy something else.
If it's "not his deal", it's not his deal, so why push him into it?
:)

Joining AudioAsylum would "not be his deal". He likes the sound of my system and asked me to help him put together a home theater. I told him he could buy either a new in-a-box system or I could help him buy a higher quality used system for close to the same price. He totally wanted to go with a higher quality used system.
He loves his new system. Unluckily the subwoofer is now a problem.
Yeah, ok... But what about the Straccali Chianti?
:)
Not a big fan of Sangiovese. I prefer Nebbiolo when drinking Italian red wine.
