I have had my Magnepan MG12 s for over twelve and a half years and I was thinking it might be time for a change. I have heard good things about both the Boston Acoustics model as well as the Wharfedale. If anyone has thoughts about how those two models might compare and give the most bang for the buck I would love to hear some input. Thanks!!

While I have not auditioned the models you mention, I have owned the Diamond 10.1 and the Boston A25. As you might expect, the Wharfedales were warmer and more laid back, while the Bostons were more forward and punchy in my application.
Overall I preferred the Diamonds but I think the ideal speaker would have been somewhere in between.
Going from maggies to a box speaker would be quite a change for you. What is your budget and what electronics would be driving the speakers? Not that those brands you are looking at are bad, but I'd recommend if switching from Maggies to look for a stellar performing box speaker, one that "disappears" when listening to it.
To answer your question, I haven't heard those exact models but of the models I've heard in the two brands I personally favor Wharfedale.
That would be a big change-
What are you looking to improve?
Happy Listening
Not sure what I am looking to improve exactly. I might just be looking for a change just for the sake of change. The models I mentioned have gotten very positive reviews. As I mentioned, I have had these speakers for over 12 years so they are pretty much all I am accustomed to.
Thanks for the input and I hope to hear more.
