And stupider than ever!!!! Although, I can see a wall covered in these resembling a kind of Borg Cube. Except the accents need to be green. What isn't readily seen here is the sheer scale of these incredibly ridiculous speakers. Each speaker has to be 2 1/2 to three feet wide!!!

Hey!!! Back off Tannoy. ;)
looks like a transformer...laughing.
I saw those in a furniture store in Mesa. Did you see the audio gear that went with it - yikes!!!!
I did. The designers at Samsung must have had a field day putting this thing and the smaller version together. I can almost see them laughing their asses off. While I was there the salesman turned it on and cranked it up. It was incredibly loud. My guess is that it's a regular DJ system duded up with lots of injection molded plastic. This is a picture of the "small" one.
Wretched design.
I've had about a half dozen Lexus's. And I wouldn't buy THAT!!!!!!
My 2012 SUV is nice. But I'm actually keeping my 2006 until they fix that friggin design!!!!!
I'm on my third one of these. I've had all three years '04, '05 and '06. When my '05 got stolen I was going to get one of the next generation but aside from being too expensive at over 110k, I wasn't all that impressed by what an extra 95 thousand got me compared to this which was sitting on the lot next to the new LS 460. It's an overbuilt tank with more tech than most new cars have today. That's right....15k. It was a no brainer. Twoish years later it's going strong. At least when they were copying Mercedes even though they were boring they weren't ugly.
Two separate accidents that totaled out our Lexus's
My first Lexus was a head on collision that ended up me breaking my neck. After some surgery I'm ok - just pain.
My wife in her Lexus had someone run a stop sign. Long story short and it wasn't as simple as it sounds, she broke her knee and T10 vertebra. Some serious shit!
Both of us would have been killed if it wasn't for the solid construction of both our Lexus's. I will drive one for as long as I can afford buying them. Except that ugly thing!
I have a 2003 Acura CL-S that I bought in 2004. It now has 204k and my goal is 250k before considering a replacement. As much as I'd like to get another Acura I just don't like anything they currently have; same with Lexus. I'm scared of the BMW ownership costs, but the depreciation/slow sales of the Cadillac ATS coupe has me thinking I can get a one or two year old CPO for a nice price.
I wouldn't buy a new car unless I really really wanted it because of some styling feature I just can't live without. Since that's never going to happen because no one is going to make an amphibious 1969 Road Runner convertible (blue with a white gut please) I will be very happy buying off-lease luxury cars for the rest of my driving career. Until the scenario in the prophetic "Hot Tub Time Machine 2" happens and we just go around in self driving cars no one owns. :: can not wait::
If you plan on holding the car for several years, the bottom line is you still can get a reasonable rate of return. I'm driving an '07 Tacoma, bought new. It currently has 166K+ miles and it's still going strong. I paid $14K for it and current book value is about $8K. I'm shooting for 200K miles before I consider replacing it.

I bought my Nissan Maxima new...
In October...
Of 1998.
Haven't had a car payment in YEARS, but since then:
I've been to Switzerland three times, had my Revox completely refurbed in Nashville, bought two new high-output Photogenic studio lights, have/am putting two kids through college with no college debt, and bought a killer Canon 70-200 F4 lens. Yeah, there ARE better things to spend money on than car payments.
:)
How were you able to drive the Maxima to Switzerland 3 times?

I swear, sometimes I have to explain the simplest things. I didn't DRIVE the Maxima, you moron - it's a car, and there's a big ocean to cross. I loaded it onto my customized Boeing 747, along with my helicopter and a few other vehicles and 50 of my closest friends.Isn't that what everybody does?

I keep my cars until either someone totals it out on me. Or it starts to become more to upkeep than it's worth. Or if it starts to become unreliable. In Arizona an unreliable car could put you in a very dangerous situation with the heat and dehydration. It isn't a joke people DOOOO!!! die out here.
As much as I like the idea of a new car it's such a lousy way to spend a lot of money. As long as my current one looks/runs with no issues and I still enjoy driving it then I'm not getting into debt. 12 years/204k miles and counting.
Makes sense if you're going to get a regular car. My mother in law's Rav 4 was bought new as well.
But when you're talking top line luxury cars like the flagship models from Lexus or Acura then used is much better value. Or a sports car like the Corvette. Used is much better value. New TOTL Vettes are over 100k!!! Even base model Corvettes are knocking on 70-80k when you start adding options. Crazy!
